Rameswaram

Rameswaram

Anyo Route (English), Tamilnadu, 08/02/2021 : Today our destination is Rameshwaram, located on the island of Pamban on the Bay of Bengal in the state of Tamil Nadu in southern India. Where there is the palm of the blue sea, the boundless curiosity of tourism, the hero of Sri Ramchandra and the Shaiva and Vaishnava pilgrimage sites.

Rameshwaram is located on Pamban Island in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu state. The distance from the neighboring country Sri Lanka is not too much. Motor launches can also be crossed with special permission. And it was from this Rameshwaram that Sri Ramachandra crossed the sea and built a bridge between Sri Lanka and went to Sri Lanka to rescue Sita Devi. There has been no less controversy so far about that stone Ram bridge at the bottom of the sea. However, everyone knows the epic of Ramayana. However, the railway bridge over the sea from the mainland Mandapam to Pamban Island is quite interesting in this region.

Tamnathswami temple

The bridge is just over 2 kilometers long and is the longest and first sea bridge in the country, which was opened to the public on February 14, 1914. It is called Pamban Bridge. There is another traffic bridge next door, but the experience of going to Rameshwaram by train over the Pamban Bridge is different. As if floating on the chest of the sea can be reached. When the waves of the sea get a little bigger, they come crashing down on it.

Agni Teertham

One of the main attractions of Rameshwaram is the Ramnathswamy Temple. Absolutely southern style temple. It is basically a Shiva temple, and it is one of the twelfth Jyotirlingas. According to the Ramayana, Sri Ramachandra worshiped Shiva here before going to war in Sri Lanka, and it is heard that the priest of that worship was Ravana himself. The Ramanathaswamy temple is quite large in size, its peaks can be seen from afar. Inside the temple there is a huge porch. The temple was renovated by the Pandya kings in the twelfth century. It is said that it was here that the sea calmed down and surrendered to Sriram, paving the way for him to go to Sri Lanka. The beach at the sea near the temple is still strangely quiet. This is the Agni Tirtham, it is said that a childless couple bathes on this beach and worships at the Ramnathswamy temple and has children.

Lakshan Teertham

Lakshan Tirtham is 1 km away from Rameshwaram temple. There are several temples here, with a pool in the middle. It is said that Lakshman worshiped Shivling here on average, before taking a bath in that pool. The temple is built in the Dravidian style of architecture. In addition to a marble statue of Lakshman, there is also a statue of Rama-Lakshman-Sita, and a statue of Hanuman. Next to it is Sita Tirtham. Nearby is the temple of Bajrangbali.

Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple

Bhulundi Tirtham is 6 km away from Rameshwaram bus stand. It is said that after rescuing Sita Devi, Sita and Sriram came back to Rameshwaram, bathed in the sea and performed special puja here, then they returned to Ayodhya with their family in a chariot. But before the journey began, at the request of the thirsty Sita Devi, Sri Ramachandra threw an arrow into the sea at this place and took out the fresh water of the spring from the sea. There is a separate stream of freshwater in the salt water of the sea which can be seen in a well here. Sita Devi quenched her thirst by drinking this water. It was here that they worshiped Shiva Ling, who is called Trumbakeshwar.

Stones are floating on water

There is a five-faced Hanuman temple at a distance of 2 km from Ramnathswamy temple. Bajrangbali Hanuman had to go to the underworld to save the lives of Lord Sriram and Lakshmana. There is a five-faced Hanuman temple here, where Hanuman has a face in his own form, the rest are Narsingh, Adibarah, Garuda and Hayagriva. Some of the stones and lacquers that float in the water can be seen in this temple. Floating in the water even though it is a stone. It is said that the monkey army built the bridge with this floating stone, the bridge through which Lord Ramachandra entered Sri Lanka.

Dhanushkoti

Another highlight of the Rameshwaram visit was the residence of former President APJ Abdul Kalam. The house of Abdul Kalam, the most popular President of India and a scientist, is in Rameshwaram. Although now his residence has been turned into a museum. The last end of India from Rameshwaram is Dhanushkoti. This place is only 24 kilometers away from Talaimanna, Sri Lanka. It used to be a small town, but Santali was devastated by a devastating cyclone in 1984. Residents were rehabilitated. Dhoni can still be turned around, but the administration does not allow him to go to the end. From here the amazing nature of the sea makes the mind forget.

Khajuraho

Khajuraho

Anyo Route (English), Madhyapradesh, 08/02/2021 : Be sure to visit Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh to see some of the outstanding art and architecture. The Khajuraho temple complex in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh was built during the reign of the Chandella kings. Between 65 and 1050, a vast Khajuraho temple complex was built over an area of about 20 square kilometers. There were a total of 75 temples. Now, of course, the Khajuraho temple complex covers an area of only 6 sq km. At present there are only 25 temples.

Khajuraho falls within the Vindhya mountain range of central India. The name of the city is Khajuraho. At most, this city is home to 25,000 people. The Khajuraho Temple Complex is 6 km away from Khajuraho Railway Station. You can rent an auto rickshaw to get out. In that case, one night in Khajuraho is enough. Of course, if you look closely at all the temples is different!

Let's talk about history. The Khajuraho temple was built during the reign of the Chandella kings. They were the kings of Bundelkhand region. Construction of the Khajuraho Temple began in 1965. At that time Yashovardhana was the king of the Chandella dynasty. Sixty-four Yogini temples, Mahadev temples, Lakshan temples and Brambha temples were built during his time. The Bishwanath temple was built during the reign of King Dhanga. The Kandaria Mahadev Temple was built during the reign of King Vidyadhara, which still exists. Some more temples were built in the complex in the later decades of the 1050s. However, there are Jain temples as well as Hindu temples here. So people from both Hindu and Jain communities are seen visiting Khajuraho.

At the time the temple was built at Khajuraho, Hindu boys had to stay in the ashram, where they had to take lessons. At that time they had to observe Brahmacharya. Then at the end of the Ashram episode they had to enter domestic life. The young students of that era used to learn the lessons of this domestic and worldly life from the artefacts in the Khajuraho temple. In the temple of Khajuraho, the pattern of orgasm of men and women has come to light. This is how sex education was arranged in the old days. It is clear that even during that period, Chandella thought of sex education for young students

Khajuraho's popularity began to grow from the account of Chinese tourist Hiuen Tsang. He, however, stated in his account that the year of construction of Khajuraho was 741. At that time Khajuraho was inhabited by Hindu Brahmins and Buddhists, according to his account. Some information about Khajuraho is also found in the account of the Persian traveler Al Biruni in 1022. He was known to Sultan Mamud of Ghazni. Al-Biruni described Khajuraho as the capital of the Jahhutis. Sultan Mamud's eye fell on Khajuraho. When he went to attack Khajuraho, it was not successful in the end, as the then Chandella king saved Khajuraho by paying some ransom. Khajuraho was quite active in the late 11th century. However, in the 12th century, Sultan Qutb Uddin Aibak of Delhi attacked and defeated the Chandela dynasty. Ibn Battuta, a Moroccan tourist who came to India in his later years, also found some information about Khajuraho from his account.

The Khajuraho temple complex can be divided into three parts. East, West and South. Of these, only a few temples in the West Complex have audio messaging facilities. In that audio message, tourists are informed about the history of temples. This arrangement is only for the temples of the western group. There is also a light & sound show for tourists on the green lawn in the context of the Khajuraho temple. The exhibition is held every evening, first in English and then in Hindi. Every year in February, a festival is celebrated in Khajuraho called 'Khajuraho Festival'. This festival is basically a classical dance program. Famous and expensive artists of the country join …
